Specialist tuition

My teaching approach:

At the heart of my teaching is the aim to empower your child to become a confident, independent learner - equipped with transferable strategies and a strong sense of self-esteem.

Each lesson is individually tailored to your child’s needs, harnessing their strengths while addressing areas of difficulty. The programme follows a sequential and cumulative structure, providing a secure foundation for long-term progress.

I use multisensory methods, proven to be highly effective for children with specific learning differences, and adapt my teaching to your child’s preferred learning style. Lessons are varied, enjoyable and engaging, with a balance of structured activities and games, both at and away from the table.

Children often have particular goals they wish to focus on. We will discuss their priorities and incorporate these into lesson plans, ensuring they feel heard and respected.  Actively involving the child in this way boosts motivation and gives them a sense of agency, which is often missing in their learning experience.

I carefully track progress to celebrate achievement, and maintain flexibility in lesson planning so that any immediate concerns can be addressed.

Where timetables permit, I can also offer tuition in your home for added flexibility.

Tuition is £50 per hour. An additional fee may apply for travel, depending on location.
